World NPCs

• Tanis - She has an odd obsession with snakes. She claims to have been bitten by a poisonous snake and almost died. She’s served the Council fo one of the three factions. Much like the animal she loves, her motives are unpredictable and sly. She conspires with enemies and plots the fall of leaders. 
• Vasile Varias - A wandering doctor in the Romanian region. Fed up with red tape and politics involved in working for people, he travels far from the cities. Those who require medical help have no reason to turn him away. He has an interest in the former Soviet Union and has taken up learning Russian. A good man, but is he a good man without a single dark secret of his own or has he inherited one?
• Daniel Bach - A journalist who loves to live on the edge and willing to go on dangerous missions that could lead to his demise. Co-workers and acquaintances call him an asshole and Daniel agrees with them. He will sacrifice anyone to be the first to report the story. On one assignment during the Iraq War, Daniel found more than just a story out in the desert. People noticed a change in him as he started digging deep into cold cases. Lately, he’s been researching New England and investigating Wabanaki Council legends and Sam Krieg novels.

Citizens of Kingsmouth

• Deputy Andy :  A resident of Kingsmouth, is holed up at the Sheriff’s office defending the area with other citizens from zombies. He’ll speak with the players about the Draug and zombies that players have to face in Kingsmouth, and give tips about how to stop their invasion. Andy seems to have some psychological problems as a result of his father leaving when he was young. He even has a twitter account.
• Henry Hawthorne : The pastor of Kingsmouth Congregational church and a self-proclaimed “hobbyist member” of the Illuminati. He claims to have done extensive research about Kingsmouth and the influence the Illuminati had on its founding.  He tasks the player with following the footprints of the Illuminati and finding out where it leads.
• Jack Boone : He guards the area from zombies, and speaks with new players in the area about studying how the zombies function and operate. Figuring them out, he believes, will bring him one step closer to being rid of them. He then gives the player the mission a fistful of zombies asking the player to figure out what makes them tick and How to stop that ticking. Before the fog rolled into Kingsmouth, he ran a bed and breakfast with Wendy.
• Madame Roget : A psychic at Raven’s Knock in Kingsmouth who sells occultist items and tells peoples’ fortunes. She is haunted by visions of ravens and tasks the player with discovering the meaning. It turns out later to be a Revenant. 

Mei Ling

Age - 25

Affiliation - Dragons

Based in Beijing, Mei Ling joined the war effort with the Dragons because she perceived the imminent threat to her family and homeland. She feels that it is her duty to use her natural talents to protect her people from the growing darkness. An artist by education, Mei Ling has discovered her true talents lie with Elementalism.

Sarah

Age - 27

Affiliation - Illuminati

While growing up on the streets of Cairo, Sarah never had a formal education and worked for the occult black markets. She devoured every grimoire that passed through her hands. In addition, she’s highly skilled with twin swords making her a versatile and powerful warrior in the war on darkness. She recently left Egypt for New York where she was quickly headhunted by the Illuminati.

Cameryn Taylor

Age - 19

Affiliation - Illuminati

Cameryn spent her youth in underground clubs and shady apartments. At 18 she started working as an exotic dancer in Montreal. Her career was cut short when a customer got a bit too frisky during a private lap-dance and her latent magical talents flared up…literally. She avoided prison with the help of an Illuminati recruiter and now she is exactly where she wants to be: killing demons by day and partying by night.

Orochi Group - is an NPC faction made up of several sister corporations. Their intentions are unclear but their actions suggest that they want power and are indifferent to the cost involved.The Orochi Group, originally introduced as “A New Opponent” at the 2009 Penny Arcade Expo during a “behind closed doors” presentation.  During the presentation they flashed first the name and then the logo: an image of a knot with eight lines and the kanji symbol for ‘big snake’. Originally thought to a be a reference to Ouroboros, it is now thought to be a reference to ‘Yamata no Orochi’ translates in English as ‘eight forked serpent’.  The logo is assumed to be corporate iconography.

Ann Radcliff and Harrison Blake are two Orochi Group agents stationed on a bridge outside of Kingsmouth overlooking Solomon Island. The team was told not to interfere with the situation or to assist the townspeople in any way.

Mizuki Koga

Age - Unknown

Affiliation - Dragons

Mizuki’s brother was murdered in a Yakuza conflict when she was 15. This event sent her over the edge and caused her latent powers to materialize. After getting her revenge, she embarked on a career as an assassin capable of penetrating powerful magical barriers. Eventually she was forced to flee Tokyo and recruited by the Dragon in Singapore. They helped train her skills with the twin Katanas to channel her powerful rage. 

Dylan Keane

Age - 33

Affiliation - Dragons

As a mysteriously talented child with a tendency towards violence, Dylan was misdiagonsed with schizophrenia. Drugs did nothing to pacify his unconventional gifts. However, through seemingly insignificant actions, he found he could affect the world around him - something he exploited to his advantage by running scams and cons on the streets of New York before being recruited by the masters of Chaos: the Dragon. His independence and refusal to follow rules suits the society well. 

Alex McCall

Age - 38

Affiliation - Illuminati

From Northern England, Alex is cynical and sarcastic with a sizable mean streak. He is a talented Chaos magus who never backs down from a fight and, when push comes to shove, he’s there for his team. His introduction to the secret world came when he was investigating a story about a series of ritual murders in Manchester; that’s when he also discovered he had a knack for the supernatural - something he was quick to take advantage of.

Rose White

Age - 21

Affiliation - Templars

A wild card; quiet, withdrawn and intense with a personal vendetta against the creatures of darkness. Her father was slaughtered by a Revenant, a demon born out of the Black Plague, and she’s spent the better part of seven years attempting to track down the creature responsible for his death and destroying anything and anyone who gets in her way.
